What are Bollywood harmonium notes on Kpnotes?
Kpnotes publishes free Indian Sargam (swarlipi) for Hindi film songs so you can play melodies on harmonium without staff notation. Each song page shows Root Sa and a Kali / Safed harmonium scale so you set the reed before you start.
How to play a song on harmonium
- Open a title from the Sargam notes archive.
- Set Sa on the recommended Kali or Safed key (for example Kali 1 = C#, Safed 1 = C).
- Read swaras left to right under each lyric line. Dots below (.N) are Mandra saptak; apostrophes (S') are Taar saptak.
- Practice one phrase slowly, then connect Intro → Pallavi → Antara.
Kali and Safed scales (quick map)
Harmonium players often name white keys Safed 1–7 and black keys Kali 1–5. Kpnotes prints both the Indian label and the Western pitch (for example Safed 2 (D)) so beginners and trained players stay aligned.

Are harmonium notes the same as piano letter notes?
No. Harmonium pages on Kpnotes use Indian Sargam (Sa Re Ga Ma). Piano pages use Western letters (C D E). Many songs have both formats with a cross-link on the page.
